1,000 job applications processed–PESO

LAOAG CITY, Aug 27 – In line with “A Cause for August” celebration, the Laoag City government processed over 1,000 local and overseas employment applications on August 14.

Mylene Pascual, Public Employment Services Office (PESO) manager, said the job fair is a continuing program of the city government in order to help Laoagenos land a job.

“We want our people to have a faster access to employment and we hope all our applicants will get a job,” Pascual said.

She said they even advised the applicants to bring with them multiple resumes for a better possibility of hiring.

The job fair is one of the highlights of “A Cause for August,” a month-long celebration of social services and charity works in celebration of former Mayor-now Vice mayor Michael V. Farinas’ birth month.

Other than occasional job fair, Laoag City also conducts quarterly job fair under the “Trabaho Mo, Sagot Ko” program of the city government.

The PESO office also organizes a monthly mini-job fair inside the PESO office housed at the Laoag City hall. (CHERRY JOY D. GARMA)
