CEB begins Cebu-Kalibo flights today

February 24, 2012 – The Philippines’ largest national flag carrier, Cebu Pacific (CEB) launches its Cebu-Kalibo flights today, just in time for summer peak. This thrice weekly service will utilize CEB’s brand-new Airbus jet aircraft, part of the youngest fleet in the Philippines.

 

Passengers can choose among flights every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with flights departingCebu at 7:20pm and arriving in Kalibo at 8:20pm. The lowest year-round fare for this route is P899. Kalibo is a gateway to one of the country’s most popular summer destination, Boracay.

 

With the addition of the Cebu-Kalibo route, CEB now flies to 20 domestic destinations out of its ever-expanding Cebu hub. CEB flies the most number of passengers and operates the most number of flights, routes and destinations from Cebu.

 

“This new Cebu hub route is part of CEB’s commitment to strengthen Philippine tourism by making tourism destinations accessible and offering the lowest airfare,” said CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog.

 

“With our international direct flights to Cebu from South Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong, foreign tourists can visit both Cebu and Boracay, two of Asia’s best beach and diving destinations,” she added.

 

For the month of February alone, CEB added flights from Cebu to the following destinations: Manila(11 more weekly flights), Caticlan and Legazpi (4 more weekly flights each), Dipolog (3 more weekly flights), Pagadian (two more weekly flights), and Siargao (1 more weekly flight).

CEB currently operates 10 Airbus A319, 20 Airbus A320 and 8 ATR-72 500 aircraft. Its fleet of 38 aircraft – with an average age of 3.6 years – is one of the most modern aircraft fleets in the world. Between 2012 and 2021, Cebu Pacific will take delivery of 22 more Airbus A320 and 30 Airbus A321neo aircraft orders, and 2 Airbus A320 aircraft on operating lease agreements.
