LAOAG CITY (29 November) – The reelected and newly elected barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials in the Oct. 25, 2010 elections here formally took their oath of office today.
Department of Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Rico Puno administered the oath of office for all 80 barangay and SK officials in fitting rites held at the city auditorium.
The barangay officials will assume office starting at noon tomorrow, November 30.
Puno issued a challenge to the newly-oath officials to perform their duties and functions diligently and effectively to realize their plans and programs in their respective barangays.
Laoag City Mayor Michael Fariñas expressed optimism that each of these newly elected SK and barangay officials will have a good working relationship with the officials of the city government.
He added that they should be active and effective in performing their duties and responsibilities by participating in various programs and projects of the city government. (Excel Guiang)
