PIDDIG, Ilocos Norte – After former Piddig Mayor Generoso “Gener” Aquino Jr. failed in his mayoral bid here last May polls, he now looks forward to serve the people of Piddig as a village chairman if Lady Luck favors him.
Ex-mayor Aquino filed his certificate of candidacy last minute before the deadline.
Aquino’s filing surprised many since he faces an incumbent re-electionist Barangay chairperson, who is known to be his ardent supporter.
Aquino served as the town’s mayor in 2007 but was ousted from office due to an election protest filed by his political rival Augustus Salazar.
