SOLSONA, Ilocos Norte – Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) President Alex Calucag of this town has filed his Certificate of Candidacy for the mayoralty post.
Calucag was accompanied by Sangguniang Bayan Member Jose Martin, who will be his runningmate. Reelectionist Councilor Bob Sacro and other partymates composed their line-up.
It may be recalled that Calucag, who is an ex officio member of the municipal council, survived an assassination attempt last June of this year in Brgy. Nalasin, this town.
His police escort PO3 Rodante Julian, however, died in the said incident.
He will be facing incumbent Mayor Jonathan de Lara. (tsg)
