US ENVOY AT MMSU. His Excellency Philip S. Goldberg, U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines, visited Mariano Marcos State University on September 4 and 5, 2014. On September 4 at 3:30 p.m., Ambassador Goldberg (center in photo with MMSU president Dr. Miriam Pascua, second from left) witnessed the launching of the Marine-based Product Development Center at the College of Aquatic Sciences and Applied Technology of the MMSU in Currimao, Ilocos Norte and gave an inspirational message. It was learned that the US government through the USAID had chosen Ilocos Norte as one of the beneficiaries under the P1.9 billion ($41.5 million) USAID-funded marine bio-diversity conservation program in the Philippines. The Ambassador visited also the various research projects of faculty and students. A big crowd composed of University administrators, faculty/staff members and students as well as Currimao Mayor Gladys Go Cue, other local officials and residents of the nearby communities attended the CASAT campus activities.
On September 5 at 9:00 a.m., the Ambassador had a forum with the MMSU community at the main campus in Batac City.
