Ex-Judge Roy Pobre passes away at 73

PAOAY, Ilocos Norte, Feb. 9– Retired Regional Trial Court Judge Isidoro “Roy” Pobre passed away at age 73.

He suffered a stroke a few months ago and was later confined for treatment in a hospital in Metro Manila, his relatives said.

Roy worked for over a decade at the GSIS legal department in Laoag City.
After his GSIS stint, he became as an assistant prosecutor (assistant fiscal) of Ilocos Norte based at the Marcos Hall of Justice in Laoag.

As a promotion, he briefly served as RTC judge in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur. Later, he was reassigned and appointed as the presiding judge of RTC Branch 18 (also RTC executive judge) at the Bulwagang Pangkatararungan, Batac City where he retired at the mandatory age of 70.

His remains were interred this morning here in his hometown, particularly at the Pobre family mausoleum in the Paoay municipal cemetery. (jun r. guiang)
