PASUQUIN, Ilocos Norte, May 18–Gunmen riding in a tandem fatally shot a certain Rolando Salvador, farmer, and wounded his niece companion Mary Anne Valenzuela in an ambush at Brgy. Ngabangab, this town, police said.
Investigators said the two came from a chili farm in Brgy. Pragata and headed for home to Brgy, Pangil aboard a motorcycle when the assailants attacked them.
Salvador expired upon arrival in the hospital due to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.
Valenzuela was operated on in the hospital for a gunshot wound in the abdomen.
Chief Inspector Joseph Baltazar, town police chief, theorized old grudge as one of the motives behind the shooting incident. (tri-media report)
