Quake rocks Ilocandia

LAOAG CITY (June 7) – A magnitude 4.5 tectonic earthquake jolted parts of extreme Northern Luzon late Wednesday afternoon but it did not cause significant, serious damage to properties.

The local Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) office reported that the quake was recorded at 5:12 p.m. Its epicenter was traced 18 kilometers northwest of Marcos, Ilocos Norte with a depth of 25 kilometers.

It was felt at intensity IV in the towns of Paoay, Bacarra and Pasuquin in Ilocos Norte, intensity III in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Laoag City and Batac and intensity II in Claveria, Cagayan and in Vigan City.
