Provincial government underscores protection of “Boracay of the North”

              Vice Governor Barba

PAGUDPUD, ILOCOS NORTE (PIA) — The provincial government was taking increment measures in ensuring the protection of the beaches in Pagudpud dubbed as “Boracay of the North,” officials said.

Vice Governor Angelo Marcos Barba sought the cooperation of the locals in Pagudpud through the efforts of DENR and the provincial government in keeping Pagudpud from falling into the same fate as Boracay in Malay, Aklan.

Resort and business owners in the said town are reminded to observe proper waste disposal and avoidance of pollution-causing objects to maintain the cleanliness in the surrounding beaches such as in Saud, Balaoi, and nearby barangays.

During the recent Holy Week observance, the town tallied over 500,000 tourists, which make Pagudpud one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in the province.

If appropriately sustained, Pagudpud will continue to attract tourist and increase tourist arrivals in the region. (Ma. Joreina Therese A. Blanco/PIA1-ILOCOS NORTE)
