SARRAT, Ilocos Norte, Feb. 22–Chief Inspector Roldan Suitos, town police chief, said a driver-bodyguard of a municipal mayor (not of this town) was held for questioning during a dragnet operation at Brgy. San Marcos here.
He said they flagged down a vehicle driven by the suspect as part of the police dragnet following a fatal shooting incident in nearby Marcos town.
As the suspect talked to the operatives, a gun was spotted beside his seat.
C/I Suitos said they seized the firearm, a caliber .45 pistol loaded with ammunition.
The suspect failed to show any license for the gun and ammo, he told reporters.(tri-media)
