PNP will be our partner in anti-illegal drug operations — PDEA regional director

LAOAG CITY (Oct. 14) – Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Director Atty. Marvin Tavares said that his agency will still seek the assistance of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in their anti-illegal drug operations.

He explained that the role of PNP will be in surveillance and monitoring of the suspected drug personalities in various local government units.
He added that any significant information they may have gathered shall furnished it to PDEA.

The regional director added that the police has the capacity to arrest any person who are caught allegedly selling illegal drugs, as well as those who are caught using it.

However, Tavares said that the PNP is prohibited in conducting any search operation involving illegal drugs or drug buy-bust operation since it is their responsibility.
