LAOAG CITY (PIA) — Ten board of directors of the Hotel and Restaurants Association in Pampanga (HRAP) recently visited Ilocos Norte for a two-day benchmarking tour.

Tourism Operation Officer Araceli Salem said the town involved arranged itinerary to some eco and agri-tourism spots in the province.
“The directors had a two-day stay in Ilocos Norte to visit places that will be used as inspiration in terms of resort heritage tourism,” said Salem.

The itinerary included a visit to the St. Williams Cathedral and sinking bell tower, the City Market of Laoag and to the Dragon Fruit Farm in Burgos, Ilocos Norte.

They also toured the Paoay town’s Malacañang of the North and Paoay Church and shopped at Herencia to buy some local products and souvenirs.

Moreover, the visitors also had a taste of Ilocano cuisine such as pinakbet pizza, calamay, bibingka in Bantay, and dried fish. (Cherry Joy D. Garma and Maricel C. Agoo, PIA1-Ilocos Norte)
