Ayat iti Panawen ti Bayakabak – A Night of Ilokano Poetry

Laoag City –To celebrate the bicentennial founding anniversary of Ilocos Norte, Samtoy Books together with Anna Liza M. Gaspar, the treasurer of Gunglo dagiti Mannurat nga Ilokano (GUMIL) Filipinas, and GUMIL Ilocos Norte Chapter headed by Joel B. Manuel, principal of Banna National High School, is inviting all lovers of literature – Ilokano or not – on September 9, 2017 at 5PM for a night full of love in the time of rain at the 2nd Floor of La Tabacalera Lifestyle Center, Llanes St. Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

The poets who will read and perform their poetry include Remy ‘Insan’ Albano, the Vice Governor of Apayao, one of the best poets of his generation, Daniel Nesperos of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte; Mario Tejada and Avelina Fe Carlos-Camacho, the nationally-known dallot performers; the renowned Bucanegan poet, Eliseo Contillo of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur; Aileen Rambaud, principal of Puritac-Dalayap Elementary School; and other award-winning writers.

At this same night, the poetry anthology, Antolohia dagiti Daniw ti Ayat, of GUMIL Filipinas, with poems from some of the night’s performers will also be launched. The book is available at Samtoy Books for only PhP 100.

Let’s all fall in love anew with the colorful poetry and dallot of outstanding Ilokano poets and performance artists on September 9 at 5PM for a night of Ilokano poetry called Ayat iti Panawen ti Bayakabak.
