Pen gun kills youth in freak accident

SAN NICOLAS, Ilocos Norte, July 30–A youngster of Brgy. 21 of this town died when an alleged pen gun he was holding apparently went off hitting him in the chest, police reported.

The lawmen said the pen gun loaded with a caliber .22 bullet was handed to the victim by a friend.

Investigation showed that he and his group were responding to a night call for help from a chief tanod uncle who was in trouble.

When the group spotted a responding police car near the area, the victim and companions changed their route and reached the cockpit arena.

There, while the victim held the pen gun, it allegedly went off hitting the victim’s chest, investigators said. (tri-media report)
