Brgy guard chief yields son, 2 others for illegal fishing

PIDDIG, Ilocos Norte, May 20–Village guard chief or barangay chief tanod Noel Domingo proved that he would never coddle any law violators including his erring son.

True to his sworn duty as a village law enforcer, Domingo quickly herded his son and two accomplices to the police station for alleged illegal fishing.

“I surrendered them to the police authorities without delay for they violated the law,” he said.

Reports said his son and companions allegedly poured insecticide in one portion of the river in Brgy. Estancia, this town.

The suspects were apparently drunk and “tripped” to poison the water.

As a result, shrimps and other fish floated above the water which they gathered for their finger food (pulotan in the dialect).

Police had readied charges against the suspects. (tri-media report)
