EX-SEAMAN
SHOT
DEAD

BADOC, Ilocos Norte, Sept. 18– Six tricycle drivers were his drinking buddies in a store near the town plaza here yesterday. Five of them had submitted themselves for police interrogation. Where is the sixth one? Cops could not find his whereabouts. Their testimony pointed to a sole unknown gunman who fired a single shot behind the head of victim, former seaman Roseman Cardenas of Brgy. Aluguog, this town. Probers theorized the bullet had no exit point but his one eyeball swelled. Police Chief Laurel Gayya said his men are still facing a blank wall on the motive behind the latest killing in this town.

2 DOCTORS
QUIT

LAOAG CITY, Sept. 18–The resignation of Dr. Arlene Ragasa, a part-time pediatrician and Dr. Modesty Corpuz, medicine physician, has no impact to the medical services of the newly-inaugurated Laoag City General Hospital. It was learned that both doctors quit for good reasons which were acceptable to the hospital management. The vacated posts caused no woes as the hospital had a lot of waiting list doctors applicants, officials said.
