BATAC CITY, Oct. 17–An ROTC firing demo on Saturday at MMSU here caused shock to many when a trainee was allegedly shot and wounded in an apparent accidental firing. Cops said Christian Sibayan’s left ear was hit by bullet. Parents of victim and suspect had initiated a possible amicable settlement.(bb)

LAOAG CITY, Oct. 20–To save electric consumption and protect consumers from meter reading error, a pre-paid electricity via cellphone could be the answer, INEC Director Cocoy Ruiz told the media. He said INEC may adopt this scheme with the approval of NEA authorities.(ga)
